18650 Rechargable LiPo Cell

The power supply for the helmet is provided by a single 18650 LiPo cell harvested from an existing power bank. The link to the power bank can be found above. The PCB housed within the original pack was also used in our design as it was necessary for voltage regulation, recharging and USB connection. The batteries function was tested by powering up the complete and running system with it and leaving it running until the battery was drained. The single 18650 cell supplied plenty of power storage for testing and prototyping purposes. The device was kept powered for up to 5-6 hours without recharging. The calculated lifetime of the battery cell is 7 hours.
